What's it about!
Police Story -2 is the sequel to the highly
successful Police Story. The film originally made in Kannada
is catapulted him into a star league. After 10 years he returns with a
sequel. The Telugu version is produced by RR Movie Makers.
In the original story it was shown that
the dreaded terrorist Black
Tiger was hanged to death. This sequel starts off with
Agni (Sai Kumar) becoming DCP and dealing with another new gang of
criminals ? headed by Timmakka (Sana), Dharamaraju (Jeeva) and Satya.
Agni contains the atrocities of Timmakka and kills off her rapist son.
Vowing to take revenge on Agni, Timmakka calls on Black Tiger. It is
revealed that he duped the police during hanging and escaped from the
sentence. After finishing off Timmakka and everyone, Agni heads to
Bangkok to eliminate the Black Tiger.
Analysis
Police Story was released 10
years ago. At that time, it seemed okay. Morever, Saikumar's powerful
dialogues in the film struck the chord with B and C centre audiences.
But times have changed and our films have improved technically. But
Police Story -2 still has the old-fashioned narration. It is a
marathon of action drama with no logic and sense. All the characters
are cardboard.
Indeed you need to have a great
patience to see through the film. For educated audiences the entire
film looks like a farcical one and evokes laughter for its director's
juvenile mindset.
What's hot!
Saikumar as Agni is in top form. Though
he has aged a bit but his screen presence is awesome. Sexy Sana
transforms into completely different role. For the first time she
plays a villainous role. Even in negative role, she looks glamorous.
What's not!
Illogical plot and mind-less violence
put you off. Thriller Manju's direction leaves much desirable. He uses
stock shots from other films for burning the buses, cars etc. Excuse
us writing very short review..but there is nothing much to write about
it.
Bottom-line
For die-hard fans of action films might
like it. It is aimed at C centre audiences. It might work for them. |
